Scheduled Maintenance in Hillsboro, KS

The short answer

Scheduled maintenance is the list of checks and changes your vehicle's maker sets for each mileage, and keeping up with it is the cheapest way to avoid a big repair bill.

Nobody enjoys spending money on a vehicle that runs fine, but almost every expensive repair we see started as a cheap one nobody caught, like a weeping water pump, a cracking belt or coolant that had quietly stopped protecting anything. It is the belt that lets go halfway to McPherson on a harvest evening, when a quick look on the lift would have spotted the cracks months earlier. Bring it in, or we will come and get it.

What scheduled maintenance at Moxie actually looks like

  1. We follow your maker's schedule, not a package. Different engines want different things at different intervals, and a lot of what gets sold as routine is not in the book at all. We do what your specific vehicle calls for at your mileage.

  2. Every visit includes a free look over the whole vehicle while it is up on the lift. We check the tires, brakes, fluids, belts, hoses, lights and wipers, plus anything leaking or hanging that should not be. Most of the problems we catch, we catch right here.

  3. Then we sort what we found into three piles. There is what needs doing now, what will need doing soon, and what we are simply keeping an eye on. You decide what to act on today, and we will not push.

  4. We keep the history for you. Next time, we already know what was done and when, so nothing gets done twice or forgotten.

Why Hillsboro trusts Moxie with scheduled maintenance

  • Your manufacturer's schedule, not a package

We do what your specific vehicle calls for at your mileage, rather than selling the same list to every car that comes in.

  • A free inspection every visit

Tires, brakes, fluids, belts and lights, looked at while the vehicle is already up. That check is where most problems get found.

  • We tell you what can wait

Now, soon, and keeping an eye on it. Not everything we find has to be done today and we will say which is which.

  • We pick your vehicle up

Routine work is not worth losing half a day for. We will collect it and bring it back.

Scheduled maintenance questions we hear every week

How do I know what my vehicle actually needs?

Your owner's manual has the real schedule, and we work from that rather than from a sales sheet. Text us the year, make, model and mileage, and we will tell you what is genuinely due. We will also mention what is coming up next, so you can plan for it instead of being surprised by it.

Do I have to use the dealership to keep my warranty?

You do not have to use the dealership. A manufacturer cannot require that servicing be done at a dealership to keep a factory warranty valid, provided the work is done properly and on schedule and you keep the records. We give you the paperwork for exactly that reason, so it is there if you ever need it.

Is it worth it on an older vehicle?

It usually matters more on an older vehicle, not less. An older vehicle has more parts near the end of their life, which means more things that are cheap to catch early and expensive to catch late. The math only changes when the vehicle is worth less than the repairs it needs, and we will tell you honestly if you have reached that point.
