UTV & Side-by-Side Repair in Hillsboro, KS

The short answer

UTV repair means fixing the side-by-sides that check cattle, haul feed, fix fence and hit the trails, and Moxie does it in Hillsboro.

That covers a no-start, a slipping drive belt, overheating, worn brakes and the rest. On a farm in Marion County, the side-by-side is often the most-used vehicle on the place, and when it quits in the middle of a July afternoon with a radiator full of chaff, every chore suddenly takes twice as long. Bring it in, and we will find the fault, give you a price and get it working again.

What UTV repair at Moxie actually looks like

  1. We find the actual fault before replacing parts. Many newer machines have a computer that stores fault codes, and we read those and test the suspect part rather than guessing.

  2. We look hardest at the parts that work hardest. That means the drive belt and clutches in the CVT, the transmission that uses a belt instead of gears, along with the CV axles, brakes and cooling system.

  3. We clean what needs cleaning. A radiator packed with chaff will overheat any engine, and clearing it is often part of the fix.

  4. Then we tell you straight what it needs, what it costs, and what can safely wait. You approve the work and the price before anything is done.

UTV and side-by-side repair questions we hear every week

Why does my side-by-side feel like it is slipping?

The most likely cause is a worn or glazed drive belt in the CVT, the belt-driven transmission most UTVs use. A belt that has stretched or overheated cannot grip the clutches properly, so the engine revs and the machine does not pull. A burning rubber smell is another clue, and we check the belt and the clutches together.

Why does my UTV keep overheating?

On a farm machine, the usual reason is a radiator clogged with grass seed, chaff or dried mud, which stops air flowing through it. Low coolant, a failed fan or a leak can also be the cause. We clean and test the cooling system so it stays cool in tall grass and August heat.

How much does UTV repair cost?

The cost depends on the machine and the fault, and a drive belt is a far smaller repair than an engine or transmission problem. We diagnose it first and give you a price before any work starts, so you know where you stand. Text us what it is doing, and we will tell you honestly what it sounds like.
