Repair it now, pay over time
Dottie says: Nobody budgets for a transmission. We get it.
If the repair your vehicle needs is more than you can cover this month, you do not have to put it off. We work with 8 different financing options, from car care credit cards to plans built for credit that is still being built, so there is usually one that fits.
Car care credit cards
Best if: you have fair to good credit and want a card to keep for future repairs.
-
Synchrony Car Care
A credit card for car care, accepted at many repair shops and gas stations. Special financing is often available on qualifying purchases, subject to credit approval.
-
NAPA EasyPay
NAPA's credit card for parts and service at NAPA AutoCare Centers like ours, with promotional financing offers on qualifying purchases, subject to credit approval.
Pay over time, decided at the counter
Best if: you want a set monthly payment for this one repair and a quick answer.
-
Affirm
Split the repair into fixed monthly payments. Pay over time with Affirm. Checking your eligibility won't affect your credit score.
-
Sunbit
A short application at the counter, with an answer in moments and payments spread over several months.
-
EasyPay Finance
Payment plans for auto repair, open to a wide range of credit histories.
If your credit is still being built
Best if: you have been turned down before, or your credit is thin or bruised.
-
Snap Finance
Built for customers who may not qualify for traditional credit.
-
Acima
A lease-to-own option that does not depend on a strong credit score.
-
Koalafi
Financing for people who are still building their credit history.
Business and fleet accounts
Best if: you run vehicles for a business.
-
Moxie Fleet Priority
One monthly invoice on net 30 terms, with your PO numbers. Free to join from two vehicles.
How it works at Moxie
We find out what it needs. You get the real number before any work starts.
You pick how to pay. We walk you through the options that fit, and there is no pressure to use any of them.
You apply in a few minutes. You see the monthly amount and the total before you agree to anything.
We fix it, and you drive away. Then you pay it down over the months that follow.
Financing is a tool, not a free repair. You pay more over time than you would paying outright, and the plan you are offered depends on your credit. If the work can safely wait a month, we will tell you that too.
Financing questions we hear at the counter
Does checking whether I qualify hurt my credit?
It depends on the option. Checking your eligibility with Affirm will not affect your credit score, and several of the others start with a soft check too. Credit cards such as Synchrony Car Care and NAPA EasyPay usually involve a full credit check when you apply. We will tell you which is which before you start.
What if I get turned down?
Tell us, because there is usually another route. Some of our options are built for credit that is still being built, and we can often split the work so the part that is unsafe to leave gets done now and the rest is scheduled later.
Is lease-to-own a good idea?
It can get a needed repair done when nothing else will, but it usually costs more in total than paying cash or using a credit card, especially if you take the full term. Read the total cost before you sign, and pay it off early if you can.
