ADAS Camera Calibration in Hillsboro, KS
The short answer
ADAS camera calibration re-aims the camera behind your windshield, so lane keeping, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking see the road where it really is.
Move the glass and you move the camera. Say a gravel truck on US-56 flicks a rock into your windshield, and the new glass goes in without a calibration. Your lane keeping could now be steering for a lane that sits a little to the left of the real one. We fit the glass and aim the camera in the same visit here in Hillsboro, so bring it in, or we will come and get it.

Text us which onesWhat ADAS camera calibration at Moxie actually looks like
We check what your specific vehicle needs, because manufacturers do not agree on this. Some require a static calibration with targets set at measured distances in the shop. Others require a dynamic calibration, which means driving the vehicle at a set speed on a clearly marked road. A few need both.
We set it up to the manufacturer's specification. The vehicle, the targets and the measurements all have to be right before the calibration can be trusted.
We confirm it completed rather than assuming it did. Then we verify there are no faults left in the system before the vehicle goes back to you.
We do it all here. A lot of glass shops fit the windshield and then send you to a dealership for the calibration, which means a second appointment and a second drive.

ADAS camera calibration questions we hear every week
Does every windshield replacement need this?
Not every one does. Only vehicles with a camera or sensor mounted to the windshield need it, which generally means anything with lane keeping, adaptive cruise control or automatic emergency braking. We check your specific vehicle before quoting, so you are not paying for a calibration you do not need. Text us the year, make and model if you want to know ahead of time.
Why does a wheel alignment affect a camera at the top of the windshield?
The camera is aimed relative to the direction the vehicle actually travels, not relative to the body. Change the angle the wheels push the vehicle along, and the camera is now looking slightly off center down the road, even though nobody touched it. That is why we check calibration after alignment and suspension work too.
What happens if it is skipped?
Sometimes you get a warning light, which is the better outcome. Worse, sometimes nothing shows at all, and the system quietly makes decisions based on a road that is not quite where it thinks it is. That is the case we care about most, because you would have no way of knowing until the moment it mattered.
