Commercial & Fleet Tires in Hillsboro, KS

The short answer

Commercial tires are built for vans and trucks that carry heavy loads every day, with a higher load rating and a tougher sidewall than a family car's tire.

Putting a passenger tire on a loaded work van is one of the most common reasons fleet tires wear out early or fail on the road. Picture a van full of tools on a gravel road outside Peabody in August heat, with the wrong tire underneath it getting hotter by the mile. We fit the right tire for fleet vans, work trucks, diesel pickups and mail trucks in Hillsboro, so your vehicles stay on the route instead of on the shoulder. Bring them in, or we will come and get them.

What makes a commercial tire different

  1. We start with the load rating, because it matters most. The load rating is how much weight each tire is built to carry. Commercial tires are usually marked LT, for light truck, and have a load range letter such as E. A higher load range means a stronger tire that can run at a higher pressure, and the door jamb sticker tells you what your vehicle needs.

  2. We read the whole fleet, not just one tire. Delivery and postal routes mean constant stopping, starting and scuffing against curbs, and gravel county roads chew at the tread. We check wear patterns across your fleet, because a van that eats its tires on one edge usually has an alignment or suspension problem waiting to be found.

  3. We handle the vehicles fleets actually run. That includes fleet vans, work trucks, diesel pickups, Mercedes-Benz Metris and Ram ProMaster vans, Ford Transit vans and mail trucks. Our Hunter alignment equipment covers all makes, including Mercedes fleet vans. We serve businesses across Marion, Harvey, McPherson, Chase and Lyon Counties, including fleets based in Newton and McPherson.

  4. We make tires easy to keep up with. Businesses with two or more vehicles can join Moxie Fleet Priority for free. Members get priority scheduling, free pickup and delivery, a dedicated fleet technician and one monthly invoice, so tires get done without anyone leaving the job to drop a van off.

Commercial and fleet tire questions we hear every week

Can I put regular car tires on my work van?

You can only do that if the tires meet the load rating on your van's door sticker, and on most work vans they will not. Passenger tires are built for lighter loads, and running them on a loaded van can make them overheat, wear quickly or fail. A light truck tire with the right load range is the safer choice and usually lasts longer under weight.

What does LT or load range E mean on a tire?

LT stands for light truck, meaning the tire is built for heavier vehicles and loads. The load range letter, such as C, D or E, describes how strong the tire is and how much air pressure it can take. Load range E is common on three-quarter-ton and one-ton trucks and many work vans, and your door sticker shows what your vehicle calls for.

How much do commercial tires cost for a fleet?

The price depends on the tire size, the load range your vehicles need, how many vehicles you run and whether alignment work is needed. Fleet Priority members get fleet pricing on tires, one monthly invoice and a pre-approved repair limit, which makes tires easier to budget. We fit dual rear wheels too. Call or text us your vehicles and sizes, and we will put real options in front of you.
